Face Coverings at Our Resorts

Resorts in the United States, USVI, and Puerto Rico

Effective May 21, 2021, unless otherwise required by local government mandates, fully-vaccinated Owners and guests at resorts in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico are no longer required to wear face coverings at our resorts.

Please refer to your resort’s Property Update page for specific information regarding local government mandates that may currently be in place.

Face coverings are required for all unvaccinated Owners and guests at each of our resorts. Shared spaces where face coverings must be worn by unvaccinated Owners and guests include the following:

  • Indoor public spaces and common areas
  • Lobbies
  • Food & Beverage outlets, including pool bars, Marketplaces, and other similar venues
  • Fitness centers
  • Outdoor public spaces where social distance of 6ft/2m cannot be maintained 

Please Note:  The above requirements are in addition to any applicable face covering requirements mandated by governmental authorities in the jurisdictions where our resorts are located.

Exceptions

The following exceptions apply to the above face covering requirements for unvaccinated Owners and guests while on property, but please note that any more stringent requirements mandated by governmental authorities in jurisdictions where our resorts are located will still apply:

  • Individuals younger than 2 years old
  • Individuals with a health or medical condition that prevents them from wearing a face covering
  • Individuals who are actively communicating with a person who is hearing impaired, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication
  • Individuals who are eating or drinking and seated at a food establishment on property (Individuals will be required to wear a face covering while moving around the food establishment and until they are seated at their table.)
  • Individuals who are exercising outdoors, including running, biking, and swimming and who are able to socially distance while doing so

Resorts Outside of the United States, USVI, and Puerto Rico

As part of our efforts to help you stay healthy when you stay with us, face coverings are required of all Owners, guests, and vendors at each of our resorts — even where not currently government-mandated and regardless of your COVID-19 vaccination status — in connection with health agency recommendations. Shared spaces where face coverings must be worn include the following:

  • Food & Beverage outlets, including pool bars, Marketplaces, and other similar venues
  • Fitness centers

Please visit the official California Department of Public Health website for information on the recently updated Travel Advisory for the State of California, which provides, among other things, that Californians should avoid non-essential travel outside of California, to other states or countries, and strongly discourages non-essential travelers from other states and countries, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, from entering California, and provides that they should adhere to the quarantine procedures in the Travel Advisory, including testing and self-quarantining requirements. NOTE:  Non-essential travel includes travel that is considered tourism or that is recreational in nature. Further, the advisory provides that all persons arriving in or returning to the State of California from other states or countries should follow CDC travel guidance, get tested with a viral test 1-3 days before travel and any travelers who test positive or develop symptoms of COVID-19 should isolate and follow public health recommendations.

General Property Updates

Notice: This resort does not permit pets.  However, service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Emotional support animals and comfort animals are not recognized as assistance or service animals under the law. Fraudulently representing a dog as a guide, signal or service dog is a crime under California Penal Code 365.7(a).

The Grill Restaurant at Shadow Ridge and Marriott Golf Academy are closed until further notice.

Construction Updates

Multiple projects are underway at Marriott's Shadow Ridge through December 2021. The projects include preventative villa and public space maintenance. Various buildings are closed.

Amenity Status

The current status of resort amenities and services is subject to change at any time due to governmental requirements and/or changes to operating guidelines. Please continue to check this website frequently for updates prior to your upcoming reservation.

Resort Shuttle will have limited service;
Oversized vehicles, RVs, and Trailers are not allowed on the resort grounds; and
Only two people per family allowed at check-in.

    Operational Procedures: • Golf Shop Hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. • Last tee time of the day is at 1:00 p.m. • Bunker hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily with the beverage cart running from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily (based on demand) Summer Maintenance Schedule: • Aerification June 14 to 17, 2021 (9 holes available these days). The Golf Course will be in less than optimal condition for two (2) weeks after aerification. • Aerification July 12 to 15, 2021 (9 holes available these days). The Golf Course will be in less than optimal condition for two (2) weeks after aerification. • Closed for Annual Overseeding Process from October 4 to  29, 2021. Additionally, the golf course and practice facility will be closed to Owners and guests from August 16 to 21, 2021 for LPGA Q School. The Marriott Golf Academy is currently closed. You must have a tee time in order to use the Golf Driving Range.

    • The Water Slide is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a sanitation break at 1 p.m.

    • Roadrunner Pool (Near 3000 Building) is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m..
    • Snakebites Pool is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    There are three (3) daily pool sessions available to help ensure that local social distancing guidelines are met. During the registration process, Owners and guests will receive a colored wristband that will allow them to join their designated pool session. Depending on the color of your wristband you will be able to join the following pool sessions:
    • AM Pool Session: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – All pools
    • PM Pool Session: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. – All Pools
    • Open swim session from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Only at Snake Bites Pool and Chuckwalla Pool
